Upcoming Events Autumn Arrows October 2-4, 2026 Pu Upcoming Events Autumn Arrows October 2-4, 2026 Pulaski County Shrine Club Campground, 26920 Shrine Road, Laquey, MO 65534 Opens Friday 5:00 PM Closes Sunday 11:30 AM There are a number of events held throughout the year focusing on specific activities. These events allow participants opportunities to enjoy all of the aspects of one area of the hobby. Autumn arrows is an event allowing members to enjoy a number of activities related to archery and thrown weapons. This is one of the three-day camping style events where some members may choose to day trip and participate in activities held on Saturday or others show up to enjoy the atmosphere in camaraderie of camping. For those wishing to camp it is normal to show up on Friday evening after the site opens at 5:00 pm, to set up their tent and, together with friends, enjoy the evening's festivities. Getting up on Saturday they can enjoy the full range of activities offered at the event which could easily occupy someone all day long. Into the evening members can enjoy talking to friends about the day's activities or other aspects of the hobby in the relaxed SCA camping atmosphere. On Sunday people tend to get up to pack up their tents and leave by the close of the event at 11:30 AM. This event has a limited size feast for $15 that 50 people can enjoy participating in. Feasts are multi-course meals where we try to recreate the atmosphere of the feast hall as well as enjoying a meal with friends. The sign up to participate in the evening feast on Saturday happens when you sign into the event. The event also features a lunch in which simple food is provided at the cost of a donation so that members can recharge without having to leave site. Costs for the event are $25 for adult non-members, $15 for adult members, $5 for youth ages 6-17, and free for children 5 and under. Upcoming Events Fletch and Flame October 1-4, 2026 Upcoming Events Fletch and Flame October 1-4, 2026 Adrian Minnesota Campground, 501 Franklin Street, Adrian, MN 56110 Opens Thursday 12:00 PM Closes Sunday 2:00 PM This event is being hosted by the Shire of Border Downs in Northshield and co-hosted by Calontir's Shire of Villa Frumentaria. It's being held in Southern Minnesota at a municipal campground. Camping is available via reservations with the campground. The event is featuring archery competitions, a team campfire cooking competition, and a bardic competition. In addition, a number of Costs for the event are $30 for adult non-members, $20 for adult members, and free for youth 17 and under. It is important to remember that this is a joint event with different customs and rules from our Calontir events in Iowa. Upcoming Meeting September 16, 2026 Inis Grove Par Upcoming Meeting September 16, 2026 Inis Grove Park 2500 Duff Ave, Ames, IA 50010 This is the normal weekly gathering of the members of Axed Root and guests, the Society for Creative Anachronism chapter representing Ames Iowa and surrounding communities. All SCA members and interested members of the public are welcome to attend Axed Root’s local meetings and participate in the activities. There is no fee to attend a meeting and wearing historical clothing is optional. The meeting location can vary from week to week. This week the meeting is at Inis Grove Park in Ames, near the Red Oak Shelter on the north side of the park. The meetings generally start between 6:00 to 6:30. There are many loaner arts and science activity kits available for local members of Axed Root. Please give us at least one day's warning for which kit you would like us to bring to the local meeting. It may be possible to loan out kits to members in good standing for use during the week. If you plan on participating in combat recreation activities it helps us to know in advance if you require loaner armor or weapons. Please let us know at least one day before the local meeting in order to give us time to load the needed equipment.
Upcoming Events Vertigo: Birdigo September 11-13, Upcoming Events Vertigo: Birdigo September 11-13, 2026 Crowder State Park (Group Site 8598), 76 MO-128, Trenton, MO 64683 Opens Friday 4:00 PM Closes Sunday 12:00 PM There are a number of events held throughout the year that feature a variety of activities and allow members to participate in a range of adventures throughout the day. One such event that has been around for a long time is Vertigo held this year in Trenton, Missouri. This event has a stated theme of “Birds”. There are plans for activities ranging from Steel combat, Rattan combat, classes and various fun and games. With multi day events like this, many people will show upon Friday night, set up camp, participate in activities on Saturday and leave on Sunday. For other members day tripping, they would come into site on Saturday morning, participate in activities through the day. For camping, the site has cabins with bunks available at no-cost via reservation on a first-come, first-served. Upcoming Events King's Companie of Archers Septemb Upcoming Events King's Companie of Archers September 11-13, 2026 Kelsey Short Youth Camp, 17980 Collins Road, Smithville, MO 64089 Opens Friday 8:00 PM Closes Sunday 10:00 AM King's Companie of Archers is an archery centered event held yearly in Calontir. It's a normal 3 day event and most people camp on-site. This typically gathers many of the best archers in the Kingdom together for classes and archery and thrown weapon activities. Costs for the event are $35 for adult non-members, $25 for adult members, and free for youth 17 and under. Upcoming Events Known World Armored Combat Collegi Upcoming Events Known World Armored Combat Collegium September 5-6, 2026 Mandt Center, 400 Mandt Parkway, Stoughton, WI 53589 Opens 9:00 AM Closes Monday 12:00 PM Known World Collegiums are events filled with classes focusing on a specific topic within the SCA. In this case, the event will be focused on Armored Combat in the SCA but will include Cut and Thrust combat, Combat Archery, and Siege Weapons. The event is being hosted by the Kingdom of Northshield's Barony of Jararvellir in Wisconsin. Costs for the event are $45 for adult non-members, $35 for adult members, $15 for youth ages 6-17, and free for children 5 and under. It is important to remember that this is a Northshield event with different customs and rules from our Calontir events in Iowa. Upcoming Events Raid or Trade September 4-7, 2026 Upcoming Events Raid or Trade September 4-7, 2026 Ashton-Wildwood County Park 8717 West 122nd Street North Mingo, IA 50168 Opens Friday 5:00 PM Closes Monday 12:00 PM The members of the Barony of Coeur d’Ennui, representing Des Moines and surrounding areas, are hosting their traditional summer event called Raid or Trade. The location is a county park that has spaces for RV and tent camping. There are a variety of activities planned including combat recreation, both rattan and steel, Crafting and generally hanging out. Cost of the event is $35 for non-members and $25 for members. Youth 17 and under are free. Kingdom Arts & Sciences Tournament August 29, 202 Kingdom Arts & Sciences Tournament August 29, 2026 Fairview Christian Church, 2320 Grand Ave, Carthage, MO 64836 Kingdom Arts and Sciences is one of the two Arts and Science based kingdom level events held each year. The format is much like that of a school science fair, where entrant’s bring displays of their projects to show and talk about. These make for excellent events to check out all of the different things that people are working on around the Kingdom. There is also an A&S championship competition held at this event to determine the A&S kingdom champion. This is a single day event where people arrive in the morning, look at the displays and talk to people during the day, generally attend court and then leave site in the late afternoon. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask us and we can try to find you the information you need. The site opens at 8:00 AM and closes at 7:00 PM Cost of the event is $25 for non-members and $15 for members. Youth 6-17 is $5 and Children 5 and under are free.
